How long does it take to get a tan?
You will see results after your very first session. It usually takes 4 – 5 sessions (within a 10 day period) to get a base tan. Using a tanning accelerator will maximize your tanning potential.

Do I need to wear eye protection?
Yes, it is very important to us that your tanning experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible. Run to the Sun strongly encourages you to use approved eye protection in our salons, to prevent future vision problems that can be caused by UV exposure.

Why should I use lotion?
Our lotions have been created especially for use in our indoor tanning beds and booths and will keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Healthy skin will tan more easily and hold on to that beautiful tan longer.

What is photosensitizing medication?
Some medications cause your skin to be especially sensitive to UV light. If you are taking any prescription medications, ask your doctor if it is safe to tan. If it is not safe for you to tan, our UV free Sunless Spray Tan (link to page) is a great alternative.

Does salon tanning prevent sunburns?
Studies consistently have shown that once indoor tanning customers begin tanning in a professional, they are less likely to sunburn than they were before they started tanning. Studies have also shown that indoor tanners are less likely to sunburn outdoors as compared to non-tanners.

How do I know which tanning bed to use and for how long?
The question for each of us is: How much sun exposure is appropriate, and how much is too much? How long will my sunless tan last?
A spray tan will usually last 5 – 8 days. To maximize the life of the tan, thoroughly exfoliate before your spray tan is applied. Then moisturize 2ce daily using a quality tanning extender. Run to the Sun has tan extender available for purchase.

Will I turn orange with a spray tan?
Products use at Run to the Sun have highest quality of DHA and bronzing agents. Turning orange is caused from poor quality DHA and bronzing agents. Clients can turn orange if they are oversaturated with the DHA. Our Spray Technicians are Smart Tan Certified and thoroughly trained on the spay tan technique to insure over saturation does not occur.

What do I wear during a spray tan?
Women can undress to what ever level of nude they are comfortable with. All Spray Technicians at Run to the Sun are female and over 18 years of age. Men are required to wear at minimum a G-string. There is only 1 technician available to spray tan men, so men must call ahead for an appointment.

What are some side effects of indoor tanning?
An undeniable side affect of tanning is Vitamin D production. Sun exposure to the skin, and in particular UVB light present in sun exposure, is the body’s natural way to produce Vitamin D. Humans get 90% of their Vitamin D from Sun Exposure. UV exposure to the skin is the body’s natural and most effective way to produce Vitamin D. Sunscreen almost completely prevents Vitamin D production
